The shareholders of the Sugar Investment Trust (‘SIT’) who were formerly registered in the factory area of Medine in the categories of agricultural worker (as defined in part 1(a)(i), (ii) and (iv) of the Third Schedule of the Act), non-agricultural workers (as defined in part 1(a)(ii) of the Third Schedule of the Act and including employees of institutions) and staff (as defined in part 1(a)(v) of the Third Schedule of the Act) would recall that following the closure of The Médine Sugar Milling Company Limited in 2019, they had been assigned to one of the ‘enlarged’ factory areas of TERRA, ALTEO and OMNICANE in 2021 following a drawing of lots that was conducted by the Office of the Electoral Commissioner, with a view to preserve their right to vote for the election of delegates.

Notice is hereby given to the said shareholders that for the forthcoming election of delegates in 2026, they will be able to stand as candidate and/or vote in their respective category in the same factory area that was assigned to them in 2021.

Any shareholder referred above can call in person at the SIT office during working hours or by phone on 406-4747 to verify his/her allocated factory area. Any objection regarding the said allocation must be directed in writing to the registered office of the SIT no later than Monday 19th October 2026 at 16.00 hrs.
